Another slow woocommerce site

[ad_1]

I recently decided to switch from shopify to woocommerce only to discover the pages load at around 7-12 sec and add to cart take 3-5 sec. I have run wordpress site before so faily familiar with the optimization steps.

Hosted on cloudway 2gb digital ocean

Image is optimized to webp prior to upload (to avoid using plugin)

PHP memory setting at 512

Theme: Hello Elementor

cache plugin: WP Rocket (minified css and js, aggregated js)

#of active plugin: 25, Woocommerce and related + elementor + Query Monitor + Wprocket + Cloudflare Turnstile + Contact Form 7 + Complianz

I feel like I’m out of options. Anything recommendations? Or should I just upgrade server to 4gb and hope it works.

  1. Post your Page Speed report URL. I’m finding 4GB is better for sites with WC these days.

  2. How many cores determines how the machine handles load. If you run mysql and apache on the same 2 core server you have about as much horse power as a godaddy site. If you have a 4 core you might think of object cache like redis or mem cache or something.

  3. Ouch 3s to generate a page. It should be possible to decrease that to 1s on DO once the issue is found.

Can you provide a full list of the plugins?

If you have a staging site try disabling each plugin to see which one is having a large impact on the load time.

Give the code profiler plugin a go as well, it might identity which plugins are slow without having to disable each one.
