Anyone here use slickstack or similar all in one server scripts

[ad_1]

I’m looking for an easy way to provision my vps. I found slickstack and found it very helpful. I’d previously looked into fastcp and wp controller but I could not get them working. Ideally I’m looking for a low maintenence stack that needs little involvement for server admin, once I really get going and have traffic I’d probably add some sort of server update service to manage the box. I have an understanding of Linux I’m just not versed enough to do it completely without googling everything.

I’ve setup boxes on my own in the past but I don’t want to reinvent the wheel. After security best practices firewall, claoudflare, reverse proxy, rate limiting, unattended updates, etc is there anything similar to this open source that can handle things like vulnerabilities that come out like heartbleed did and autopatch. I really like this as a base and would love to extend the functionality. Anyone have any ideas or resources that would be helpful on the journey?

thank you

  1. I use Linode + RunCloud. RunCloud runs a daemon on their stacks to do updates, plus their web tool to manage your server is awesome. It’s rare that I ever need to SSH in any more, unless I’m monitoring CPU/RAM activity via `top`.
