are bidders committed to pay when they bid like ebay?

[ad_1]

Hi @designnyc ,

We read your email and it looks like that what you are looking for is a feature which assures payment from the bidder.

Payment assurance is an highlight of our two PRO products:

  1. Ultimate Auction: Pro Plugin (PRO Plugin)- Suitable for existing website.
  2. Ultimate Auction: Pro Software (PRO Theme) – Suitable for creating a new auction website

PRO Plugin has a “Credit Card Auto Debit” feature and PRO Software has “Payment Hold” and “Credit Card Auto Debit” features which ensure payment.

Since this forum is for free plugin queries, we would suggest you to please visit the website of our professional product and use respective contact forms to send us your queries for PRO products.

Just for the sake of this forum, I’ll mention the details of both the features

Our Pro plugin’s Business and Unlimited license has an addon called “Credit Card Auto Debit”. This addon works with Stripe and what it does is that it lets you collect credit card details on registration page, stores that customer information on Stripe server and once admin adds auction and when auction expires with a winner then automatically debits the winning amount from winner’s credit card and transfers it to admin’s stripe account.

Credit Card Auto Debit Workflow

1. Admin activates “Credit Card Auto Debit with Stripe” addon and configures its settings.

2. Admin creates an auction product.

3. User registers with credit card details. And User then places a bid.

4. When the auction expires, then automatically the bidding amount is debited from the user credit card and transferred to the admin stripe account. Please note that this is automatic and admin dont have to do anything and winner also dont have to click any “pay now” button.

5. Then the PRO plugin sends an email to the winner with the “Get Item” link. User clicks “Get Item” and the product is added to his checkout page where he needs to enter his billing details and place an order.

6. Order is created and the admin has all the information of the user in that order and he can go to WP Admin > WooCommerce > Orders to see that order.

Ultimate Auction: Pro Theme will be more suitable because it has “Payment Hold” feature available in its “All Access License” along with Credit Card Auto Debit and this feature is what we think will help you achieve what you are looking for. There are 2 types of Payment Hold features available in it and both work with Stripe and Paypal’s Braintree payment gateway.

Use-case 1: Payment Hold for each Bid

1. Admin adds an auction product.

2. Visitor tries to place a bid and is asked to register. Registration form collects credit cards from the visitor.

3. Visitor is successfully registered as User 1.

4. User 1 places a bid of $100. This $100 is then held on his credit card.

5. User 2 places a bid of $200. Now, the previous $100 amount is released and $200 is held on User 2’s credit card.

6. Auction product expires. $200 is then retrieved from User 2’s credit card and transferred to admin’s stripe account.

Use-Case 2: Payment Hold on first Bid

  • When a customer first bids on an auction their credit card should be authorized for $250.00. If it is successful, the bid stands, and they are allowed to bid until the auction ends. The bidder can then bid an unlimited number of times on the auction.
  • If the bidder wins the auction, the $250.00 dollar authorization is settled as a charge.
  • All losing bidders will have their authorizations voided at time Auction ends.

Please use respective website’s contact us page to send us your queries.

Regards,

Nitesh
