Are my images quality reduced by uploading?

Hey all.

I have a feeling that the last few days, the images I’ve been uploading to WordPress seem to be reduced in quality compared to the image files on my computer.

I didn’t have this problem earlier, and I didn’t change any setting either.

What I did get (4 days ago) is a message from my host that my hosting plan was nearing the max capacity, but that has been fixed the same day.

Does anyone else have experience with images reducing in size after uploading them to wordpress, or am I going crazy?
