Are there any good guides to setting up a search page with custom filters?

I’ve got a WordPress site that uses Pantheon Solr, Timber and Twig and the requirements are that it has multiple filters. Since the Pantheon Solr Plugin supports facets using that with Ajax makes a lot of sense to me but I would like some guidance in implementing it. And of course if there’s a simpler way I’m open to it.
