The latter, they will load later if needed. So an option that’s only needed a fraction of the page loads, will be loaded then when needed. So an option that has autoload remove from it will still load when needed, but later. Loading it separately is a tiny bit more “expensive” in terms of CPU time, but the fact that it’s not loaded on every page load when it’s not needed, is a net-win.

Just need to work out why my apache processes are so huge now !
