Backup/migration of large WP website but not enough space on the server?

Hi all, sorry for asking this, but I am new and never encountered this problem, so I must ask you guys. I want to back up and migrate current WP site from current (on our server) to another (paid hosting). We have a large database of many GBs, and while I can use All In One Backup and Migration plugin, the plugin creates a zip on the actual server, and then downloads it. I was told I need at least double the space? I tried it and I’ve crashed the website.

Is there a way to do this, so I don’t crash the website?

  1. Check Migrate Guru , It uses third party servers for migration.

    Its a bit slow , but we have used it in situations like yours where origin server is low on disk.
