Best solutions for paywall news site?

I’m wondering if anyone can recommend the best solutions for implementing a paywall for a news style website?

I see “Content Control” and Paid Memberships Pro

Bonus question, I’m wondering if anyone knows of a good paywall solution that would work at the edge?

Trying to think of a solution that allows for scalability and page caching if possible, but that may be pie in the sky thinking.
