Best Way to Backup Site

[ad_1]

I've had a WordPress site for the third straight year and I'm wondering what the best way is to back up my site? I was debating doing it through Jetpack but I might just end up doing it manually to save money.

Also, does backing up a site save the images uploaded as well?

  1. I’ve used all in one wp migration and it works great.

You can also create a backup manually by extracting the wp-content from your ftp server

  2. My favourite is UpdraftPlus. It’s free. Ensure you back up to a remote server though (uploading to Dropbox, Google Drive, AWS S3 is free). Backing up to the same server is not a backup.

  3. UpdraftPlus is probably the best way to go, especially if you’re unsure of what you’re doing. The free version can backup directly to Dropbox or Google Drive and it can do it automatically every day so you don’t even have to think about it once it’s set up.

  4. On site backups
    -Backup on same server –

Off site backup- it backup to cloud storage
    Local backup

    – download a backup to your laptop
All in one backup does that, you can also download using updraft plus

  5. There are many. If you’re a Jetpack user, the backup solution is actually good and if you have a large site it’ll handle sites that are very large. If you’re not using Jetpack for their other services then don’t use it unless your site is large.

If you’re looking for something that’s very affordable and works, manage WP’s backup solution is one of the best.

If you need security and like premium plugins, blogvault or malcare are tried and true.

I currently use all of these on one site or another and have not had an issue with any.

  6. Been using Duplicator for backups and migration for years now. Free version is sufficient.

  7. Most hosting provider have their own backup. I believe you can contact your hosting provider and ask about this feature.
