  1. There is no “right way” there’s millions of ways to build a website. So throw that away. Question is, what do you trust, what are you best versed in, what adds the most value to YOUR clients. Thats it.

  2. The best way to build websites is your way not anyone else’s, so build your website the way that you’d like it to be. That’s the key, make it unique and develop it.

  3. Elementor is a dumpster fire, followed closely by Divi which is also a dumpster fire, just slightly shorter flames.

At the end of the day, if you aren’t full stack, you need to utilize whatever toolset you can support, and feel you can rely on. My team heavily relies on Gutenberg, and custom build blocks/functionalities. But that maybe outside your skill set. Can you build functional good looking sites with Gutenberg, sure if you take a little time to learn it. It isn’t the most intuitive. Beaver builder is solid too usually so is WP bakery if you need an alternative visual builder. There are also plenty others out there.

Try some things, break some things, learn from your missteps. Remember, one who has never made a mistake, has never tried anything new. Go out there and find the toolset that works for you and moreover works for your clients.

  4. If you’re moving to Gutenberg, you might like Blocklayouts.com. It has a lot of ready-to-use block patterns

  5. I use Elementor for all my sites. It is extremly versitile and if you combine it with something like ACF or Crocoblocks, you can pretty much build any type of site you want.

Let me know if you need help, I have a few good resources for you 😊

  6. Avada. My go too. Fantastic support, Facebook community and a damn good theme. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise (It’s always the user)

  7. After using countless themes and pagebuilders over the years I pretty much only use the Kadence theme and Kadence Blocks to build sites anymore. I bought the Lifetime Pro subscription and consider it one of the best purchases I’ve made for my agency.

I’m still forced to work on sites built with Elementor and other page builders but I’m often able to talk the client into letting me rebuild it. The sites fly after building using a lean theme and Gutenberg. Once you build a site or two and understand how to build with Blocks and Gutenberg you can build sites incredibly fast.

There are other very good lean themes you can use. My advice is to pick a theme you like and use it over and over until you know it well. You can build the same site using a lot of different combinations. Elementor, Divi, or Avada are not needed.

  8. Haven’t tried Elementor, but did try WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace. Also Wimbly and SlashPage. For me SlashPage was way better than all the other ones.

  9. I love Breakdance builder in conjunction with a few other plugins. I don’t hate on Elementor but since I changed I haven’t looked back and love what the BD team has built. Like everyone says though you do you!
