Hey everyone,
I’m a front end developer, and just recently got into WP. My company is trying to branch out and offer website building services. My manager is a die-hard “hand code only” believer that static HTML is the only way to go for SEO. He feels that WP and plugins add too much bloat, which in turn causes reduction in SEO optimization, thus rankings.
Can anyone chime in on their experiences with WP page builders? I’ve tried Elementor Pro, which is fine and a bit clunky to build pages with. Today I tried Seedprod, which in my opinion is fantastic. I was able to build a similar homepage to one that I hand-coded with HTML (with Bootstrap) at a fraction of the time. Its pretty incredible at the speed in which you can layout pages. I’m trying to see which page builders are lightweight and can compete with static HTML for page load speed.
On a side note, does anyone know of software that is similar to a pagebuilder, but that only generates HTML thats not part of a CMS? Even something like that would speed up development time instead of hand-coding HTML/CSS.
Thanks!
