Eventually I might start hosting my own blog but since I’m not decided on its name/URL yet and also first want to find the hang of blogging I’m just starting lowprofile with a free [Wordpress.com]) blog. (It’s also just for fun with no professional ambition whatsoever)Now I want to write each blog in dutch and english (I will write both language myself) and want a way to either choose between a dutch or english feed on the homepage or for people to switch language from each post’s page. Is any of this possible? I saw some tutorials about using ‘pages’ but I can’t seem to find a way to apply my blogs theme to them?
[https://wordpress.com/support/set-up-a-multilingual-blog/])I guess the 2nd solution here comes close but then it will show each post twice on the main main page and I don’t really like that either?

1. Dont use [wordpress.com](https://wordpress.com) use [wordpress.org](https://wordpress.org)
2. Install Polylang or WPML (both are plugins) to create a multilingual site/blog.
No it wont show posts twice on your main page unless you do that. The pages and posts will be separated like this in example:
[yoursitedomain.com/some-blog-post](https://yoursitedomain.com/some-blog-post) (this is your main language so it won’t have the country code after the domain)
[yoursitedomain.com/fr/some-blog-post](https://yoursitedomain.com/fr/some-blog-post) where “FR” stands for the language (France) or it could be something like /gr/ for Germany etc if your main language is for example English.
