I've been asked by someone to do some work on their website ( I didn't create it). Whoever made it, made it using Bluehost.
I don't know if this is a common issue with Bluehost, but the website is so unbelievably slow, in-fact sometimes it doesn't load at all or takes over 10 seconds to load, and Google page speed insights can't connect. it's almost impossible to work on, even the WordPress dashboard is extremely slow.
Another issue I've faced, is that i've created a staging site to make the changes, and bluehost has put itself into "burst safety mode", so now I can't even choose to edit the staging site, it just defaults to the main site edit.
Are these common issues with Bluehost ? or is the way the guys built the website ? Any help would be highly appreciated. I'll post an image of the speed diagnostics.
Drop them or make them move hosts. Just do a simple Bluehost search in this sub.
Terrible host and you’ll never make the site fast unless you host a single html page with text only.
They’re not the fastest, but 10 seconds to connect is not normal for BH. Try checking for malware.
Yes, those are common issues for BH – they are a bottom tier host who overload their servers. Do a search for them in r/webhosting.
That said, issues like LCP are usually issues that can be fixed by someone with web development knowledge
