Bluehost suggested I keep my stage site

[ad_1]

I keep receiving notifications about the staging site not being to update plugins. It's annoying. I don't use it anymore and I have 4 folders called stagings or staging in the File Manager. I would like to remove them since the stage doesn't even look like what my site is now, but Bluehost, where I host my site, said to keep them because they are connected with the main site. I have to believe them because once I did it and deleted my site as well. But, the stage site should be a copy that you can remove. Is this correct? Should I hire somebody to remove them? What is going to happen when I do need a new stage? They suggest we keep adding. This doesn't sound right. What is your experience? What do you suggest i do? Thank you!

Generally, you can remove your staging sites without any issue.

But, It’s really necessary to understand what kind of set up you have in place.

If you already have some basic understanding of WordPress site folder structure and way staging is set up.
    You can remove them confidently.
But, If you don’t then you need help from WordPress developer or someone capable enough to check your set up and do cleaning for you.

If you share your current staging set up in DM then I can advice.

    Thanks,

    Sunny

  2. Just delete it. BH is my a reputable host. If you don’t need the staging environment then just delete it. Create a local instance for debugging things.
