Bluehost WordPress site is really slow, switched to Cloudways

Hi, I was using Bluehost for domain and WordPress hosting. The website was loading pretty fast for a long time, and then all of a sudden I noticed it was EXTREMELY slow (over 5 seconds) or not loading at all. I tried talking to Bluehost but they were not very helpful. Today I switched to Cloudways.

Cloudways gives you a default domain name for your WordPress application and then you can connect your actual domain name. When I open the site using the default domain name, the site seems to load faster. If I make the actual domain name the primary domain, the site seems to load a fair bit slower. Any thoughts??
