Hi all! What a great forum, but I’m done with lurking so have to ask about haha. I can’t get into exact details, but my boss outsourced a system for a client and it’s been butchered. The idea is quite simple (obviously the implementation isn’t)
The website is to offer after school courses, bookable per day. eg, monday tue thur on specific ranges of time. But also, bulk pricing is an option. So like, buy 5 days (1 week) for £85 instead of £20 per day, and children’s details to get saved.
I know there’s Event plugins for this, but the specific bit we’re looking is this is for parents to book kids into. And kids have to have their names registered to what they sign up to.
For example, Dad opens up “Fun Summer Scheme 5 to 9 year olds”. Which runs for 8 weeks, Monday to Fridays 9am to 2pms. He puts in a child called Harry who’s 9, and Samantha who has an allergy, who’s 8.
What happens on the admin is the availability of this goes from 100 places to 98 places. The admin can see the parent and the child(ren) they’ve booked in including medical notes about each child. So next year when Dad books Harry and Sam, Sam’s allergy is still noted. However, Harry can’t rebook to this course as he’s now 10 and the course is 5-9 year olds.
Another feature, is an Admin can put an order though Manually. Say for example, someone wants to pay in cash but they’d still need to go through the system.
Other features: Woo standard stuff like order management, payment gates, coupons etc are all good and I know how to implement this quickly.
We’ll add some custom taxonomies to, to allow for different locations (eg, School A, School B) and even types (after school, breakfast club)
I can’t build this out manually yet as we’re against time. We’d like to use plugins and premade themes for now to get this project out the door quickly
I can’t find a specific plugin that fits these features, especially for bookable days or save child/participants details
Any advice?
