Broken image links after migrating site – Only those with special characters in file name.

[ad_1]

I recently moved my WordPress site to a new server. The transition went smoothly for the most part but after repairing permalinks and making sure everything worked structurally, I noticed that some images showed broken links.

Checking the media uploads panel on the back end I noticed the corresponding files showing blank as well.

The thing they all have in common are special characters (accents; á, é, í, ó, ú) in the file names.

Now, I know I technically should use special characters to avoid anything like this but I’d never had a problem until now.

The files are on the server and I can access them via cPanel’s file manager no problem, but won’t show using direct link or in WordPress.

Wonder if any of have had any of this happen to you in the past, or if you had any idea of how I could fix it?

All feedback welcome! Thanks!
