I tried replicating this on my website, but Stripe was still set as active after I deactivated the credit card option.
To confirm, it shows like this, but still works, correct?
Can you please confirm which version of Stripe are you using? What about WooCommerce’s version?
- The Payment Methods order defined in the backend is not respected, and the Stripe methods appear first in the list at the checkout page:

I was also not able to replicate this on my site.
Are you using the new checkout experience or the new one?
Are you able to temporarily switch to the default Storefront theme to check if this persists?
Can you please share the System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support so we can take a look?

To answer your questions:

- Using WC 9.0.2 and Stripe plugin1.8.2
- Old checkout experience (due to this unsolved bug on the new one)
- Where can I share the system report in a secure way?

I can confirm this. I just tried it on one of my test sites. I used the Legacy experience, disabled the CC option, and left only some APMs. It shows as disabled, but it does still work in the checkout. Using UPE it does show as active, though.
The Payment Methods order defined in the backend is not respected, and the Stripe methods appear first in the list at the checkout page:
This one I was also able to replicate, both with UPE and Legacy, if I disable the CC option I get the Stripe methods first, not in the order I set it. This one is a really interesting find.
With this in mind, I’ve opened a bug report for our developers to look into this. You can follow the report here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/issues/3308 and we can continue the discussion there.
