Building landing pages on WordPress vs. drap and drog builder (ActiveCampaign)

Hello! I have a question regarding landing pages. To give you some context about myself, I transitioned from being a marketing intern at a SaaS company to a business development trainee at a small business consultancy company.

At my previous company, we had front-end developers and designers who were in charge of executing our department’s ideas. However, it is pretty much different in my current role. There is not even a marketing department or similar processes. And, one of my objectives for the upcoming months is to get more involved with the marketing side of the business, as I enjoy it pretty much more than sales.

We have a WordPress website, and I am currently exploring the possibilities of using ActiveCampaign to build landing pages to improve our lead generation efforts. The main reason is that I prefer to use an all-in-one system, as ActiveCampaign is the system we currently use for our newsletter and it would be easier to use the same system for other projects e.g. lead nurturing and email marketing automation.

However, I have been doing some research and the speed of the website can be affected negatively by drag-and-drop LP builders like ActiveCampaign? I have no coding experience, and we have an outsourced website developer who built the whole website, but I would prefer to use ActiveCampaign so I can take care of this internally. However, I am concerned about this and that, if I ask our website developer, he will drag me to the side of building LP with WP because it favors him more.

Please let me know your thoughts about this! Is there anything else I should consider? Someone else using drag and drop builders for WordPress?

  1. It might be worth experimenting a bit. Perhaps you could test-build a landing page with ActiveCampaign, see how it performs, and compare it with a WordPress-based page. Sometimes, simply getting your hands dirty is the best way to figure out what works best for your specific needs.
