Building Site for Others

[ad_1]

I built my own site with Elementor and just sort of took the easiest path and learned as I went along — got Elementor hosting and watched tutorials when I needed to figure things out. The site is live but it’s a bit of a technical mystery to me.

Now, I have a few friends who like my site and want me to build sites for their small businesses. I’m down to do it, but I feel like I’m missing the foundation of knowledge that I need to be their “trusted web guy”. Such as: how do I handle the hosting of the site, where (and how) do I store backups, how do I work in a staging area so I don’t mess everything up if they wants edits once the site is live, how do I handle the “handoff” of the site, etc.

I’ve searched for tutorials and have gotten fragmented info, but nothing that makes me confident enough to say “yes” to these offers. I’d happily pay for a course or a consultation with an expert who could walk me through this if someone is willing to point me in the right direct.
