Last year I built 2 websites with WP-Divi. So that’s my extent of experience with WP.
A friend would like to rebuild her website and I’m not sure how to help. If I were to use my “lifetime” Divi license to build another website and transfer it to her account, can she maintain/update it on her own? Will she also need a Divi license?
Or should I try to build her website in Gutenberg or basic WP?

You can use divi on unlimited websites so just use that if you are more comfortable with it.
