Calling an API; Fill data into gravity forms, which can be editted

[ad_1]

Hi,

I’m investigating if wordpress, in combination with wpGETapi\*, Gravity Forms (with signature) and GravityFlow, might be a possibility for my needs – but most of the documentation focuses on getting data from Gravity Forms into an API.

*\*wpGETapi is the solution that I found, but there might be others – feel free to input.*

Problem:

The user can get data from a REST API, containing array of data, which should -if correct- be populated into Gravity form fields, sign it, and pass it on to the next step (a person on the other end) for final approval and signing. The last part should be someway managable already with GravityFlow and PDF output.

However the big issue is the first parts:

1. Searching for and getting the information accessible from “user”s point of view and,
2. Getting the fields populated with the API data afterwards.

1; While the information might be able to be looked up with wpGETapi, the information typed, might be mistakenly typed and needed to be edited afterwards – or looked up again, if there is a typo.

That process might happen multiple times, given there is two categories of look ups (on different API calls):

2: A person (Who’s data will populate the form, and will be the next step approver/signer) + one, or more, look up into resources which data will populate other fields.

Because I don’t want to store the above person/resource data on the wordpress server, it should be on demand.

Anybody done something similar, and can offer some good inputs/pointers on where, what, how above is possible (if at all) or if there is a plugin that I might be missing in the calculation?
