Can I get rid of or hide the chat gpt box in the editor?

[ad_1]

SO….

I have already checked with the folks over at the Divi subreddit and I have been told that this is not a divi thing.

So here is an screenshot featuring this Chat gpt box that I guess is supposed to be a feature. It may be to some I am just finding it to be visual clutter.

How do I get rid of it? Or.. just make it go way.

Did WordPress just think that making a box that you have to keep closing if you refresh your screen and pay a subscription fee to Open Ai if you actually want to use it was a brilliant idea? I guess I could try to ignore it but I can’t. It’s bugging me!

I am not averse to using A.i. but this is not how? or where? I personally want to interact with ChatGPT. Please come up with some options with emphasis on the word options.

[Another example of poor engineering design](https://preview.redd.it/7lqx947s4yrc1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a6a492c1a2eeec9a1ca0cddf92e86170d810b76)

The prompt states “Just add a keyword to write a ‘fully’ seo optimized post”. Fantastic! This is great. This wee little box is going to solve all my problems. Magic! One little keyword and viola traffic and unlimited sales. Perhaps…*(thought dreamily)* this little box will bring me **the respect I deserve** and everybody think me smart. This has to be the future.

Conversely, I could go on about how through automation we have managed to create piles of garbage that are clogging up our waterways and how our planet is becoming uninhabitable… Blah, blah, blah. Hey I know let’s do the same thing with our heads. Blah, blah, blah… excetera.

I am going to save you the time and effort of reading a full on rant so you all can get back to prompt engineering and interpreting the digital sputum into coherent clouds of futuristic sales strategies for widgets to fill our empty lives. Obviously I am likely to need one of those doodads one day. Keep up the good work.

For now I would like to make this box go away.

Thanks in advance for the help and cathartic shoulders folks. For now I gotta go and work around this new feature? *(just don’t look at it… pretend its not there and close it… now look away and whatever you do don’t refresh your screen)*

Have a great day.

  1. That sure is a rant, my guess is the seo plugin you’re using is adding the box. Haven’t seen it before yet, but you can probably switch it off in the settings.

  2. This is not an inherent WordPress feature. Not sure why you’re blaming WordPress.

I’m 1000% certain this is from another plugin – likely whatever SEO plugin you’re using.

  3. You are definitely using a plugin that displays this box. I don’t see it on my side.

  4. If you’re not sure which plugin is adding that, disable your plugins one by one til you find the culprit. (Use a staging server if your site is already live.)

  5. What happens when you click it? (take a screenshot and post it here (use imgur.com)) That will likely give you a clue to where it’s coming from. It’s not coming from WordPress.

  6. As others have said, that is not built into WordPress, at all. Whatever you’re using plugin-wise is adding that, turn it off, and your problem goes away.
