I’m currently running a multisite where i have a number of customers all running a clone of a template site. I don’t really want them having much… or any access to the main worpress admin page as it’s too overwhelming for them. I do however want them to be able to hop on a page builder to make minor changes on their own. Is there a WP plugin or configuration that would make this a reality or do i need to make custom software. aka wix lite

Have you tried assigning them the role of editor? There are also plugins that let you configure what each role can do. For example [https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/])
