Hello fellow WordPress-ers!
I’m teetering on the edge of a meltdown and could use some help.
I created a staging site using WP Staging. I’m now ready to move our newly redesigned site to prod. However, I’ve literally only just noticed that the plug-in changed our default permalink structure to the ‘plain’ option and when I revert it to the ‘post name’ option in the staging site, all of the links either redirect to a 404 or and old web page. I’ve reached out to support and not had an answer yet.
Anyway, in the interests of trying to move things along, does anyone have any bright ideas?
Here’s some options I’ve thought of:
1. Just migrate with the ‘plain’ permalink setting and tidy & redirect the URLs when migrated. >> Not keen on this.
2. Create a new staging site and import all the elementor page templates (basically rebuild with the templates) >> I did test this option and the elementor importer is failing. I suspect we have a file upload limit causing issue.
Is the answer obvious and I’m missing it?
