  1. Look at creating a robots.txt file to stop bots and spiders from indexing your site. It’s been a long time since I’ve looks at this, but there is plenty of information if you search.

  2. In WordPress you can discourage search engines to show your site like this:

    Login to the WordPress admin area and go to Settings -> Reading.
    Scroll to Search Engine Visibility option.
    Check the option that says Discourage search engines from indexing this site.

    You can also activate an IP restriction, but I guess that’s too complex. Anyways, if you just published your website, no one will know unless you give it a few weeks on Google.
