Basically a website i worked on a year ago and the domain link connection expired, everything is lost once i login. If i pay for the domain again can i get my website back with how it looked last time and all the products, plugins, pages etc. it had?

Where are you hosting your website at? That’s where your website files and database is.
Here’s a simple analogy. Hosting is the LAND on which you build your HOUSE (website) . Domain is just an address which the browser follows to reach your house (website) so regardless of you renewing your domain, your house or website is still located at to your hosting.
Both hosting and domain has to be renewed once every few years depending on your plan. Like someone mentioned, contact the hosting company or just login to the hosting account and see if you still have the hosting plan active after which you can know if you can retrieve the web files or not
