I use Elementor to insert the EmbedPress audio player, and in Elementor I can choose the custom player, which has more enhanced styling. When I generate the EmbedPress shortcode from the admin dashboard, the only attribute I can add to the shortcode is the url, and the player is a barebones slate gray rectangle. Not too sexy. Does the shortcode have attributes that allow for the selection of a custom player?
