Hi there,
We use WP with Woocomerce plus a bunch of plugins like everyone else.
My question – if there is a way to block certain scripts from loading from a particular page? In this case the checkout page.
If I disable the plugins, the scripts don’t load so the loading page is faster but by doing this we break other pages in the website that we actually want those scripts to load.
We are facing issues with our checkout loading time. The full load time right now is 16 seconds.
I disabled all the plugins and only left the ones that are necessary like stripe, Paypal, Astra pro, elementor pro, etc. and the full load time is now 9 seconds which isn’t great but obviously better.
But by disabling all those plugins, our checkout page is faster but other pages are breaking now and we obviously don’t want that.
Any help is appreciated.
BTW – We are also looking for a dev. that can help us speed up our website. We want someone good though that knows what he/she is doing. Not just a guy that can read a few lines of code and download plugins to make it faster. We are willing to pay well.
Thanks – Paul G

Here’s a page that highlights a few different ways to do this via plugins:
There are ways of coding this yourself, but one of the plugins mentioned in that article might help in the short term until you get a dev that can dive in a bit deeper.
Here’s a stack overflow discussion about disabling plugins on specific pages, but it’s a very old discussion:
A decent dev would know whether or not this is still the ideal way to do it. I’m still a noob with WP dev so I’m not sure.
Try perfamatters to manage your scripts on checkout page. Also a good webhost matters a lot regarding speed of your website. I would recommend wprocket for cache and cloudflare pro CDN. Hope this helps.
