Assumes you really need multiple WordPress sites but you want to use a single install that shares plugins and themes. Multisite seems really cool but opens up a whole big can of worms when you enable it.
I would install LocalWP on your computer, spin up a wpmu site to play with and see if it’s really what you want.
Couple things to be aware of. 1) some plugins don’t play well with multisite. 2) Once a site is part of a multisite network it’s not easy to pull it out on its own again.
