Been facing an issue where when trying to access the website, it just prompts a “download” file (or some random gibberish on Firefox) without displaying the website’s actual content. Prior to facing this issue, I was working on updating the website’s PayPal forms when after hitting the update button, the aforementioned problem happened. Now you may think “oh then its the Paypal that caused this” I tried this **the first time** and it seems the website just tripped, **for no apparent reason.**
After spending endless hours researching if others faced this weird issue as me, I found a few things which made me “the odd one out”:
\- “PHP Version too low”. Since mine was at 7.4, I updated it to 8.0.
\- “Enable Debug to see errors”. Did this, and saw the memory limit errors. Apart from that, there was **1** deprecated message about something connected to elementor. That was it.
\- “Adjust your PHP.ini and wp-config.php to increase your max memory limit to 1024”. Debugged the website and saw that I had a “fatal error” of “exceeded memory” of some absurd amount. Tried to increase it, but the download issue still occurred.
I am now out of options. I do not know what else to do. This thing has been kicking me in the back and I have no way of figuring this out. This is not an excellent start to the new year.

If I am missing any information, or have been vague in my explanation or whatever, **PLEASE** let me know, the last thing I want to see after spending a day on this problem is being downvoted to oblivion for missing extra detail.

Can you share a link?
What does it try to download?
Try disabling all your plugins (rename plugins folder to something like plugins-x) and see if it still happens.
Rename your htaccess file (root directory).
