First of all, this is really unusual. Saving the changes should have an immediate effect on the frontend.
I would like to give you the following tipps:
- If you use an optimization/cache plugin, empty its cache or deactivate it completely while you work on the site.
- Also pay attention to what you are editing. There are various templates in the theme, and you can also create new ones. For example, call up the homepage. Then you should be able to edit the homepage template via Edit above. Changes you make there should then also be visible on the homepage.
- Also check whether you are calling up the correct URL for the frontend to check. It is easy to make mistakes.
By the way, you could also test it yourself in the playground. If something works there but not in your own WordPress installation, then there must be something wrong with your project.
@threadi Thanks for your suggestions! after posting this thread I spoke with hostinger support and they resolved the issue. Apparently it was related to cache as you suggested in your first point, the first thing I did was downloading a cache plugin which probably caused this problem, and he had to create a new .htaccess file, and then it immediately started working as it should.
It’s great that it works. You are welcome to set the topic to solved.
