There is no proper setting, it’s dependent on how you want to run your eCommerce business. Some merchants authorize payments first, then capture at a later date. A car rental company is a good example of this.
Other companies capture payment immediately. For digital products, it’s most common to capture the payment immediately since you’re not dependent on shipping logistics.
