Category post templates

[ad_1]

Is it possible to create a template and automatically assign it to posts based on category?

Within posts I have categories “recipes, articles, tips and tricks, ect.” I want to create custom post layouts for each category. But would love them to apply without having to select template with each new post created.

  1. First, you’ll want to create custom post templates for each category, defining the layout and design you want for recipes, articles, tips and tricks, etc. You can do this by creating individual template files for each category and specifying the layout accordingly.

Next, you’ll need to implement category-based conditional logic within your theme’s functions.php file. This involves writing code that detects the category of each post and automatically assigns the corresponding template when the post is created or updated.

By setting up this conditional logic, you’ll ensure that each new post is automatically assigned the appropriate template based on its category, without the need for manual selection.

If you’re not comfortable writing code yourself, there are plugins available that can help you achieve this functionality with a user-friendly interface. Simply search for “WordPress category post templates” in the plugin repository to find options that suit your needs.

With this setup, you’ll be able to streamline your content creation process and ensure consistency in post layouts across different categories. It’s a great way to enhance the user experience and make managing your WordPress site even easier!
