Choosing Cloudflare over cache plugins

[ad_1]

Hi r/Wordpress!

I recently revisited Cloudflare’s cache settings due to the deprecation of Page Rules. This led me to the question:
**Do I really need a cache plugin when I can configure both edge and browser cache using Cloudflare?**

I find cache plugins to be bloated, so I’m considering using only Cloudflare. It allows me to set different cache expiration for various resources, including HTML. Managing dynamic content might require more configuration, but I believe it’s manageable.

What are your thoughts on this caching strategy? Have you ever tried something similar? Can you think of any potential issues?

  1. Like every cache question is…it depends. What about any/all of the server level caching? Varnish? Redis? Litespeed? There’s a lot of different variables, caching is hardly a one size fits all problem.
