Clicking the dark overlay in lightbox mode only closes on the first image

This is a great plugin but for some reason when I click to expand the lightbox, then close it, the next time I open it, it will only close from the X button

The first time it’ll close just fine if I click anywhere on the dark overlay. Could this be caused by some conflict of plugins I have on my site?

I also noticed when that second+ time an image is clicked on to open the lightbox, the escape button and arrows won’t work to control the gallery anymore either.
