Cloudways Plan Suggestions?
Hey Friends, I am consdering making the jump from Siteground to Cloudways but I am torn between DO Premium (1GB) or Vultr HF (1GB). Pricing isnt too much of a concern. Is there any reason to go for Vultr HF over DO?
Also a few more questions for those who are willing to help:
– I recently registred a new domain via siteground because squarespace was being a b*****. I cannot transfer this domain for 60 days which is fine, but could I theoretically transfer it to squarespace where all my other domains are managed after that period?
I have an eCom website, a membership site, my photography site and soon to be a new photography page. Would the First tier DO Premium be enough? I know storage is quite cheap but in terms of performance?
If anyone here is an affiliate for CloudWays and wants to earn some bucks through me, then drop your link. First come first serve. But won't likely make the switch today as I still have some months left on my SG plan.
Thanks so much in advance everyone 🙂 e
Hey , I work in an agency and we are making stagings on cloudways, even with expensive plans I can’t say that performance is great. Sometimes server is down. While this is a staging – that’s not a big deal. But I won’t choose this option for the prod.
In the meantime worth mentioning that they have cool plugin to set up staging easily.
Other thing that is especially related to membership sites is caching. Take into consideration that due to caching changes related to membership access may not be implemented immediately
So for membership site I’d recommend to find hosts who are especially good for membership sites.
Also cloudways ha a great service panel and provide ssh directly from web which may be needed sometimes
Performance should be similar for both.
1. Yes, you can transfer your domain to another registrar after the lock-in period.
2. Depends on the traffic and overall resources used by your sites. If they are low traffic lightweight sites, they may be okay.
1gb will barely run a WP site, let alone 4. Don’t forget that your server also has to run its OS and database.
