Color discrepancies

[ad_1]

My logo in the navbar is showing up the wrong color!

This is my first experience with wordpress, using Elementor, and a template called Total. I do not have the pro version. My logo consists of a blue image with black lettering beside it. The blue color should be #004ebc with standard black lettering, which it is in the jpeg file saved from photoshop to my media library. When I go to “appearance” and “customize”, then upload that file to the navbar, the color changes to a bright blue.

Is this a file type issue, a template issue, or what? I did try exporting from photoshop to PNG which ended up being a darker blue in the navbar.

Thanks for your help!

  1. It’s likely a mix of issues. If you open the same website in Firefox and in Chrome, you will probably see discrepancies in the colours – because each renders differently.

You can minimise the issue by using web-safe colours. You should also create/edit in RGB color mode (not cmyk) – if it’s web-intent images. I try and use SVG where possible – depending on complexity. Then WebP, then PNG, then JPG if all else is too large (file-size).

Make sure you have RGB mode in PS, and ‘export for screens’ / ‘for web’ (PS ver depending). It should be very close to the right colour – but control of it is not perfect due to browser inconsistencies.
