colspan from css without entering #colspan# into the fields

[ad_1]

Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I see what you mean, but unfortunately, this is not possible. This is actually a limitation in HTML and CSS and not in TablePress. Combined/connected cells must always be defined in HTML code, but can not be defined in CSS code.
Sorry for not having better news here.

Regards,
Tobias

Hi Tobias,
i was afraid that this would be your answer 🙁 but after reading
that old thread https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2403990/html-colspan-in-css
i got some hope for such a solution. Of course i do not understand fully what they talk about, but i believe you do :-).
As this thread was filled with information over 10 Years it might be
Interesting and gives a hint for a future implementation.

Again, thanks a lot for tablepress. just amazing.

Kind Regards
wespe

Hi,

they actually talk about a totally different HTML structure (using <div> tags instead of a <table> HTML tag). That’s not something I can do though, so this will not be possible.

Good to hear that you like TablePress so much 🙂

Best wishes,
Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
