Comparing the page performance before pushing it to live ?

I would like to add a few more products in my front page based in categories instead of just having the most popular products in general.

Problem is, my host is very shitty so Im afraid it might slow down the website too much and don't want to just push it to live right away with no testing.

Is there any way to test the performance and compare the two without pushing it to live ? I don't want to create a staging website because that would be even worse for performance.
