Hey everyone,
Some of you, or your clients, might be dealing with Consent Mode v2 and wondering how to set everything up on your site to make it work right. One option is to use a paid CMP platform. For instance, Complianz has this sorted out in its premium version.
But a lot of my clients don’t want to pay for something like that annually. So, I thought about ways to get around it, found some articles and videos, and put together a JSON template for Google Tag Manager. This way, you can set up Consent Mode v2 on your site using the free version of the Complianz plugin.
Complianz saves user consents in 1st party cookies, and with Google Tag Manager, we can read these values and set up update events for Consent Mode based on them.
I’d really appreciate it if you could try it out and send me your feedback.
