Consent requirement: Certified CMP not adopted

[ad_1]

Hi @watbetekent,

This is because you’re using the “standard” banner as available in Complianz (Free), and as you intend to serve (personalized) ads with Google Products such as AdSense, you will likely require the Google-certified CMP/TCF banner available in Complianz Premium (found under Wizard > Consent > Services > Does your website use cookies for advertising? > Choose the appropriate frameworks > “Enable TCF & Google CMP Certified Consent Management with support for Google Advertising Products”).

This will change your Cookie Banner into an entirely different banner which helps you conform to those additional advertising requirements. This will also adjust the Cookie Policy to include the required elements, such as the Global Vendor List, TCF Purposes and such.

I’d be glad to explain all you need to know, but as we may only discuss Free functionality on these forums; please contact us via support(at)complianz.io, if you have further questions about this.

Kind regards, Jarno

Thanks for your reply @jarnovos. So to confirm: if I want to use Complianz for my Adsense compliance banner, I have no choice but to opt for the paid version of Complianz since the free version does not support this?

If i purchase the paid version of Complianz and set it up how you mentioned, will the ‘error’ message in my Adsense account disappear automatically then, or which steps am I still supposed to take within Adsense after purchasing and setting up the paid version of the Complianz plugin?

Hi @watbetekent,

You would indeed require the Premium version of the plugin for this. After enabling the TCF/CMP option mentioned earlier, an “Advertising” section will also be added to the Wizard, so make sure to complete that as well (as this determines which Vendors are eligible to serve ads).

The AdSense message about it should disappear after some time passes. Although it looks like some publishers currently see this message persisting, even when using Google’s own CMP. I’d expect Google to address that soon.

Kind regards, Jarno
