This plugin has over 5 million active installations and I think only a maximum of 500 know that this plugin slows down the site extremely. Check the Chrome console, even with a fresh WordPress installation. This plugin creates a strange feedback schema script that slows down the entire site by at least 300 MS and the plugin operators give no way to disable this script

Oh no, it is very very well known the industry that this plugin preys and I mean preys on the newcomers in WordPress, also their 5 million installs is it bit of misnomer because the plugin comes out of the box with so many other bigger plugins such as Ultimate add-ons for Elementor, as well as many many other themes and plugins. It comes preinstalled.
But for those that know, usually will go with a plugin such a Gravity Forms or Formidable Forms that offer hundreds of other use cases besides the contact form.
And are much faster much faster.
I hate contact forms 7, but they are geniuses at advertising and marketing because they have to overcompensate for a very very inferior product.

Contact Form 7 is one of those plugins that’s famous mostly because it’s famous. They were one of the first forms plugins and so they had the field pretty much to themselves. And now they have that 5 million+ mark largely because you *still* can’t filter searches by stars given by reviewers.
