Copy site to new domain for archive purpose

[ad_1]

I am currently working for a company that had a site built using WordPress before I was hired. We are in the process of launching a new site on a new domain and will cancel our services with the company who created our old site. The problem is that they are using WP Engine and will not give me access to the SFTP login and hosting side of things so I cannot make a manual backup to my knowledge.

What I want to do is create a copy of the old site on a subdomain (archive “dot” domianname “dot” com) so that I can access any content from our old site after we cancel our subscription to their services. I have tried using Duplicator but was met with an error as this site is using managed WordPress hosting. I tried using All-In-One migration but was unable to download the file. I also used Updraft Plus (the free version) but was unable to restore from the backup I made. I am willing to pay if that’s what I need to do just want to make sure it will work. Is this even possible or am I up a creek without a paddle? Thanks for any suggestions!

I am trying to move the site to nixihost if that helps at all.
