Copyright credit for featured images

I can’t get my feature images to [look like this]). I want to credit the picture source, and the plugins I tried to don’t work when posting to my blog. Is there a trick to this? I want to give proper credit to the photographer.

  1. You could save the source in the description or caption field of the image, and then edit the template file for posts and output that field below the featured image. Obviously, it requires a little custom code and you would need a child theme, but it will always work. This method doesn’t require plugins, but some skills. If you decide to change the theme in the future, the sources will stay as image metadata, you would just need to adjust the template file in the new theme.

  2. usually when I used had a gallery in WordPress and I uploaded as Gallery and there was a box called “Image Caption” and that is where I put credits there then publish, works like charm. No need plugin.
