Creating filters on a shopping website

[ad_1]

Hi everyone. I have been offered a contract to work on creating filters for a shopping website that uses WordPress. I have never used WordPress before. I have been asked to provide a price for the contract. I have the following questions

1. What might be some components of this work in terms of sub-tasks? (this is to give me a sense for the scale of the work)
2. Any advice/tips on pricing this contract.

The person offering the contract expects that it might take 1 month to complete. For someone working 30 hours/week and starting as a novice, is 1 month a good timeline (too short or too long)

I know that this subreddit might be more geared to the technical side of things but if anyone has insights/tips, I would greatly appreciate.

  1. Take a backup of the site, download it, then restore it into a copy of [Local]). You’ll be using Woocommerce. Google for “Woocommerce product filtering” – there are a few plugins that do that.

Given your inexperience with WP, do not touch the live site until you have everything working locally.
