I’ve just started a new blog and I’ve been wondering if this would be a good idea or one of those ideas where I would regret it after spending many hours and being ()% done. Realizing it isn’t going to work well.
The idea:
Use acf custom post types and fields to build a blog post template with a repeater function: For example a list of locations, hotels, restaurants… add affiliate blocks and tips blocks. Make these extras able to be enabled or not within the page creation. Use these custom post types within a blog template (I’m using bricks) and build my whole blog that way.
If I need another specific page I would just build another custom post with different fields.
This way I would skip the need to design every single page but instead just enter the data. This would make it possible for me to use the design elements from the builder instead of Gutenberg as well. Keeping my blog maintained a very consistent style and making it easy for others to work with my blog as well.
Does anyone know if this is the proper way or will this end up messing everything up?
