Customizing Blocks

[ad_1]

New to using blocks here.

When using a theme that has blocks, I’m really confounded and frustrated I can’t modify the dimensions of a given block.

Have a couple questions:

• Is it up to the theme’s creator to allow an end user to customize the theme they downloaded?

• Is it just an inherent limitation with WP that doesn’t allow this kind of customization when using blocks, or some combo of both?

• Would I need to do custom CSS for the elements I want to change, I guess?

  1. The level of customization given is based on the theme and their developers. Outside of what they allow/don’t allow, you can definitely use CSS to edit elements.

If you let us know what theme you’re using, it could help us better help you.

  2. Blocks should give you quite some design options. But sometimes, the standard blocks and the blocks from the theme are not enough. There are lots of (collections/sets of) other blocks available in the plugin repo. For example the Generateblocks plugin, which look simple but these blocks have extensive customization options. You can put the block you mentioned in the container block of the Generateblocks plugin and use the extensive options of that block to configure the size for desktop, tablet and mobile.
