Database and media library clean up

[ad_1]

Hi all

Need a bit of help, or at least good advice.

I have wp site(woo) where an API which importing and syncing a large number of products. Which in large works fine.

But some how every time an existing product is synced, the images related to he product is add again, in terms of the actual files, it not a big issue, because they are overwritten. But every time there is a new database entry – which mean the database, and therefor allso what is seen in the wp media library is growing at fast speed…

So the media library displays it, as if the images actually is there in hundereds of duplicates, when they are actually only there ones.

I’m working on fixing the API, soo it won’t images, that are already there. But intil then, and before I move on, I need to fix the current situation.

I see differnt options for syncing the database with the with files that are present on the server, but not in the database – but soo fare nothing that do the opposite.

Have any one tried something similar, and have some good advise on plugins or other things that might do the job.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
