Deleting minify cache

[ad_1]

Let’s start by saying I don’t use WP and I have a very basic understanding of how it all works. **(I shouldn’t have touched anything on the site)**. The site was made by a contractor for my private business. It stopped loading at all, so I saw all of the space was being used for minify cache. A google search later I find a way to delete the cache (with developer options which again I shouldn’t have used without talking with the guy who made the site). The consequence was this: the site works but some of the content isn’t loading the proper way – fonts, picture sizes, etc..

My questions are:

1. what can I do to restore the site to how it was?
2. Is my fuckup that big that I will need to pay the contractor again to do some things again.
3. Is the minify cache filling up and stopping the site from working his fault. (is the minify cache even the reason for it not to work)

  1. How did you delete the cache exactly? From plugin, FTP/file access?

If there’s a caching plugin on the site try to reminify the files if there’s such option, hopefully that’ll recreate the files and cache and things would get back to normal

  2. >It stopped loading at all, so I saw all of the space was being used for minify cache

What error did you get at first? Blank page or 500 error?

    >A google search later I find a way to delete the cache

Can you share the instructions you found?

    >what can I do to restore the site to how it was?

Did you create a backup before modifying the site? May be your hosting provider can restore the site from one of their automated backups (usually professional Hosting Providers do that)
